Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, journalist, TV host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. After moving to England from Greece when she was 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The first ever foreign-born student to serve as president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. As a conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 after she decided to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient vehicles. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position in the list and in the same year the Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the President of AOL's media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she shared a close relationship with her mother and father, it was their bond that shaped her. Even as a young girl, she showed leadership traits that she's still known for. In the year she turned 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. After after graduation she worked as a critic columnist and television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
