Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarships for his family and service to the community. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He was one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. They also won 2 national titles. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a degree in Education. Fourth-year service in the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After graduation, Lee Roy settled in Tampa where he spent 9 years with the Buccaneers. There were three times he was named All-Pro. Then he began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs in his college days. He played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he became the as associate director at the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
